The Rathfinny Estate in Sussex was founded in 2010 to produce some of the world’s truly great sparkling wines. The intention is to have 160 hectares of vines planted by 2020, eventually producing over a million bottles a year of the finest Sussex sparkling wine. The new state of the art winery is energy self-sufficient, with a grass roof, solar panels and a water treatment facility was ready for the first harvest in 2013.
Component Developments was approached to design, manufacture and supply a sustainable, high performance drainage solution capable of meeting the hydraulic requirements and loadings of a winery. Component Developments supplied a heavy duty stainless steel drainage channel (3010RS), with reinforced shoulders, anchor tangs, brace bars and an overhead levelling system. This was then topped with Component Development’s heavy duty anti-slip grating to prevent slippage and allow the system to withstand the weight of a 3.0 tonne wheel load.
The final solution was a sustainable, drainage system that met all specifications, whilst being easy to install.
