Fareham Leisure Centre is an award winning centre, which offers a huge range of activities through its state-of-the-art facilities. With a gym, two swimming pools, tennis courts, health suites, group exercise studio, an onsite crèche and a café.

Component Developments was approached to design, manufacture and supply the stainless steel floor drainage systems for Fareham Leisure Centre’s changing and shower areas. The final drainage solution needed to be hygienic, effective and most importantly bare-foot friendly.

Component Developments used their 3610G Compact Drainage channel profile, which provides a continuous slot along its length which is maintained by small spacer bars at ever 300mm. As there is no grating, the compact drainage channel profile is not only “cost-effective” but is also easy to clean- simply wash the channel out with a hose!

The compact drainage channels were manufactured with a built in fall to Component Developments type 5150-110SWG stainless steel height adjustable gully. The gullies came complete with a removable waste basket, odour trap, and 110mm diameter side outlet spigot.

Component Developments also supplied standalone 5150-110SWG’s in dryer areas which didn’t require drainage channels. The gullies were all topped with a perforated laser cut grating, which was smooth and safe for barefoot traffic.

The overall drainage solution was a durable, long-lasting solution capable of meeting all hydraulic requirements.
