Interior Building Drainage

The Leadenhall building is an impressive skyscraper in central London. It is informally known as “The Cheesegrater” due to its wedge-like shape.

Component Developments was contacted to supply stainless steel drainage and access products for Level 4 and 5. The products needed to be inline with the aesthetic themese chosen by the architect, whilst meeting all loading and hydraulic requirements.

For Level 4, Component Developments was asked to supply stainless steel trapped 5200 gullies, designed with a VinoSeal clamp. This makes installation easier, whislt also decreasing the potential for the Vinyl sheet flooring failing. Removable gully items include wastebaskets and odour traps topped with an anti-slip grating suitable for pedestrian loadings.

Also on level 4, several manhole covers with frames to suit vinyl sheet flooring were fitted. Each double sided, lockable and supplied with lifting keys for access.

For level 5 several stainless steel 6010 drainage channels were installed and finished off with Heelsafe gratings, suitable for pedestrian loadings but protective on bare feet and stiletto friendly!

All products were made from grade 304 stainless steel.
