Interior Building Drainage
Established in 1694, the Bank of England is the second oldest central bank in operation today. Within its Grade I listed building, the Bank of England offers a wellbeing centre to its 3,600 employees. It includes a gym, two fitness studios and an occupational health centre for in-house doctors, dentists, nurses and physiotherapists.
Component Developments was approached to design, manufacture and supply a bespoke stainless steel drainage channel for the male showers.
The drainage channel designed had to go under an existing wall within the shower area to meet building restrictions and the aesthetic of the building. The system then discharged out through an open side rather than via a spigot. The channel also included anchor tangs, levelling feet and the shoulder closest to the wall was reinforced for extra support.
The system was completely bespoke, and required Component Developments to work very closely with the contractors, 8Build to ensure the system was designed, manufactured and supplied right first time, and within any time restrictions.
