Deformation:
If correctly installed the gullies will not deform unless subjected to loads
for which they are not designed.
Scratching:
The gullies and grilles will only scratch through misuse.
Wear:
The gullies and grilles do not suffer from wear.
Fatigue:
No fatigue unless incorrectly installed or overstressed.
Impact: The gullies will resist impact loads when properly installed, but grilles
or gratings may suffer if subjected to loads for which they are not designed.
Effect of chemicals:
Stainless steel is not affected by normal floor cleaning substances or by most
chemicals likely to come in contact with it. It will, in fact, outlast the vast
majority of floor covering materials with which it is used. Neat chemicals,
such as those containing acids and chlorine eg, bleach, should not be allowed
to evaporate on stainless steel components as this will cause pitting corrosion.
After cleaning with such solutions, thorough washing down with clean water is
essential.
Biological:
The hygiene nature of these products ensures that there are no crevices or cracks
which may form a haven for bacteria. Waste buckets should be removed and cleaned
at regular intervals to avoid odours or bacterial contamination.
Thermal:
Coefficient of thermal expansion of stainless steel if 1.6mm per metre through
100 degrees centigrade.
Service life:
If correctly installed, they gully assemblies should have a service life and
a period of reliability and durability equal to the life of the building.
Economics:
The height-adjustable design of the gullies facilitates pipe-laying, thus reducing
installation time. The elimination of additional rodding points also provides
savings in installation costs and long term savings are achieved by the reduced
maintenance costs of the stainless steel products in service.
