Sainsbury’s must be one of the best known names in retailing, they serve over 16 million customers each week from over 750 stores through-out the UK, as well as offering a range of financial services.
In 2000, engineers for Sainsburys and Component Developments designed a range of trapped gullies that would fit in with assemblies already in place and perform the necessary functions requested.
The gullies were a variation on our standard 5000 series gully, still including a removable waste basket, odour trap, rodding port and 110mm diameter vertical outlet spigot, but also two back-inlets at 180 degrees to each other, and either a smooth mesh grating or a sealed plate grating. For the smooth mesh grating there is also a tundish available, used like a funnel, directing the flow of water into the gully.
The standard gully body is round rather than square, and thus has no corner where bacteria can fester and breed, ensuring ease of cleaning.
Gullies have also been supplied with our vinoseal clamp, creating a safe attachment to vinyl sheet flooring.
