With 400 clubs and over one-million members, Fitness First is the largest operator of health clubs in Europe. In twelve years they have grown from a single club, to a business that straddles fifteen countries.
Working with Fitness First’s in-house engineering department Component Developments produced a series of modular drainage systems that were adopted as standard for all Fitness First new build and refurbishments since 2001.
The modular 6000 series has a standard overall width of 155mm with a grating width of 125mm and a channel profile to suit tiled, resin or concrete flooring. The gratings supplied along with the modular system were perforated, ensuring safety for barefoot traffic, though other options are available depending on the environment the channel will be used. For applications where heavy loads are anticipated, or thermal shock, the 6010 expansion frame profile is recommended.
The trapped outlet used with modular drainage is our type 5150 which includes a removable waste basket, odour trap and 110mm diameter outlet spigot, standard for pipefitting.
