The new National Stadium, located in Wembley, will not only be one of the best stadiums in the world, but also a significant landmark for London, having a breathtaking effect on the city’s skyline. On a clear evening, the structure can be seen for thirteen kilometres, with the arch itself having a span of 315 metres, making it the largest single roof span in the world. Built to the highest specification, using the latest technology, the stadium will be the ultimate venue for sports, music and conferences.
Since October 2005, Component Developments have been supplying contractors with gutters, trapped gullies and dutch-bent drainage channels. The channels had been supplied with a mixture of heelsafe and anti-slip gratings depending on the area the channel is being fitted into. Heavy duty gullies were supplied with a lockable heelsafe grating for the exterior of the building.
For the project, CD put multiple delivery options in place, in-order to spread the supplying of goods across a set amount of weeks. This meant contractors could get on with the job in hand and gave them time to install one batch before the next batch arrived on-site. It also meant that products did not have to be stored on-site un-necessarily.
Due to having the engineering, pre-fabrication, production and logistics departments being on one-site, and having access to the Telford Laser facilities, CD were able to supply bespoke and unique items quickly and accurately.
