Ropemaker is a British Land commercial development, and one of the City of London’s most attractive and sustainable buildings. Designed by ARUP Associates, Ropemaker Place offers over 580,000 sq ft of office accommodation for both professional and financial services. Incorporating expansive roof terraces over looking London, the building has impressive credentials including a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating.
Working with Frost Landscape Construction and Townshend Landscape Architects, Component Developments designed, manufactured and supplied stainless steel façade drainage channels and stainless steel fascias for the roof terraces.
Over 330 meters of type 6081 drainage channels were supplied, over multiple levels of roof terraces. The channel profile has a radiused ‘dutch bent’ edge, giving a sleek, minimalist look whilst being suitable for high-heeled shoes and bare foot traffic.
The stainless steel fascia was designed to suit the individual areas that it would be installed. Over 280 meters were supplied along with the mitred corner pieces for each location.
